The CENTER of the Internet is the ROOT of the Domain Name System (DNS) a "single point of control" and "single point of failure" around which connections over the internet by "strings" like "FREETHE.NET" resolve. The ROOT is defined by a text file called "root.zone" that runs on a computer in Herndon, Virginia by Network Solutions, Inc. under a contract with the US Government. The "root.zone" is the master list that defines all the Top Level Domains (TLDs) of the Domain Name System to users of the Internet. Computer scientists call it "the truth". A TLD that is NOT included in the "root.zone" is INVISIBLE to the rest of the internet. What determines "the truth" depends on "who you ask".
